South of Corkscrew Road at Estero Crossing Blvd.
RiverCreek, formerly known as Corkscrew Crossing, is a GL Homes residential community located on approximately 395 acres along Corkscrew Road, east of Wildcat Run and across from the WildBlue area. The community is bordered generally by Wildcat Run to the west, The Preserve and Bella Terra to the east and Corkscrew Road to the north. Approximately 200 acres were originally identified for preservation. Village records confirm RiverCreek is a 395-acre development to be built in multiple phases.
The original development concept contemplated a substantially greater number of residences. The Village's approval ultimately reduced the residential density to approximately 544 homes, emphasizing single-family residential development rather than the original, more intensive, multi-family mix. This reduction helped limit impacts on surrounding wetlands and natural areas.
Current construction status
RiverCreek is now substantially complete and is no longer in the heavy construction phase described in earlier reports. GL Homes has completed its new home construction program and the RiverCreek community website states it is sold out of new construction homes. The RiverCreek clubhouse and recreation center also are now open.
The completed community includes a substantial resort-style amenity program. Current information identifies a resort pool, splash park, four tennis courts, six pickleball courts, two bocce courts, an indoor basketball/sports court, fitness facilities, playground, party pavilion, sports lounge, multi-use field and other recreational facilities.
