Items of Interest on Upcoming Village Council Meeting Agenda

The Village of Estero Council will discuss several important matters at its next meeting on Wednesday, September 9. Note the time change to 5:05 pm

These meetings are an opportunity for residents to learn more about growth, development, and zoning changes within Estero and to voice questions, concerns, and comments on these topics.

This meeting serves as the first discussion of numerous budget items, including:

• Adoption of the tentative Village millage rate and ad velorem taxes
• Review of the Village’s proposed $72 million budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, which includes:
  • $55 million for capital projects
  • $13.5 million for the general fund
  • $3 million for debt services (repayment)
  • $2.7 million for special revenue

Additionally, the meeting includes the following agenda items:

• Adoption of a resolution to support the construction of noise-abatement walls as part of the I-75 expansion project
• Imminent domain of a ¼-acre plot of land owned by the Fountain Lakes Community Association for a roundabout project on Williams Road
• Contracts as part of the RiverPark construction project, including $244,000 with Honc Industries for path construction; $91,000 with Earth Balance for non-native plant treatment; and a $5,000-per-month contract with the Estero Forever Foundation for park management
• A $383,000 contract for utility improvements associated with the Broadway Avenue West utility project
• A proclamation recognizing the contributions of retired Lee Health CEO Dr. Lawrence Antonucci

Village meetings are held at the Village Hall at 9401 Corkscrew Palms Blvd in Chambers.

Residents who wish to comment during the meeting should complete a Public Comment Card. E-comment forms are also available before meetings and must be returned by noon the day before the meeting.
