Estero didn’t become what it is today by accident. It was carefully and deliberately shaped by residents who stepped forward, got involved, and gave back. Over the past 26 years, our nonprofit organization has made a significant positive impact on Estero’s growth and culture. Please see our history here.
Now, that responsibility is being handed forward.
Engage Estero is seeking a select group of new Board members, individuals who understand leadership, value community, and want to play a meaningful role in shaping Estero’s future as growth, infrastructure, and quality-of-life decisions accelerate.
This is not a symbolic role. It is an active Board that helps shape priorities, inform public dialogue, and influence the direction of key local issues, from transportation and development to long-term planning and community character.
We are specifically seeking:
- Retired or semi-retired C-level executives and senior professionals
- Engaged residents with a vested interest in Estero’s future
- Individuals who bring sound judgment, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset
Estero is at an inflection point.
The decisions being made now about traffic, growth, infrastructure, community health, and preservation will define the community for decades. This is a moment that calls for experienced leadership and thoughtful stewardship.
If you’ve spent a career making decisions, building organizations, or leading teams, this is your opportunity to apply that experience where it matters most, right here at home. Please see the board member position description below.
Board positions are limited, and we are moving with urgency to identify candidates who are ready to contribute. To learn more about Engage Estero, please visit www.esterotoday.com.
If you are interested or would like to recommend someone who fits the role, please reach out to me.
Sincerely,
Jim Gilmartin
