In October 2024, the Village Planning, Zoning and Design Board (PZDB) received an application to amend the Master Concept Plan and zoning conditions to permit a small residential development at this location. Lennar Homes proposed 17 residential lots. Site clearing has already occurred and infrastructure installation has begun. The development is likely to be completed in the next 12 to 18 months.
Concerns remain about whether Broadway Avenue, a small two-lane road, can safely and effectively handle the additional traffic from this development. These concerns are compounded by the larger development planned at the intersection of US-41 and Broadway, which has an entrance just east of the former Post Office, now converted into offices.
