Not only does Table Tennis sharpen your hand-eye coordination, but it also helps with balance, improves your Pickleball skills, and has medical benefits. Purvi Naik is a very dedicated teacher who runs group sessions for those interested on Saturday between 2 pm and 3:30 pm at the Estero Recreational Center. She also has classes at The Brooks Commons Club.
Aside from helping mental acuity, it benefits those with Parkinson’s Disease as well as those with Dementia.
Purvi often has a neurologist at her sessions as well as other medical staff.
- Parkinson patients who usually have tremor, find that when they play Table Tennis, the tremor disappears!
- Dementia patients in particular appear to enjoy the sessions. Many carers find their loved one is much more lucid, talkative, and relaxed for several hours following their focus on the game.
Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, it is a fun session. If you need to find out more or have lessons, call Purvi on 239-272-8941.
