“Let’s Talk Mines” Forum

June 27, 2019 @ 6:00 pm EDT

The Estero Republican Club is hosting a public forum on limerock mining and the proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan on Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. at the Estero Recreational Center.
As you know, the ECCL has been active in monitoring and informing residents about these changes. At the April 17th County Commission meeting approximately 300 residents attended to voice their extensive concerns. (See our page about this meeting).
Estero Councilmember Nick Batos was one of the speakers at that meeting and he is one of the featured speakers at this forum. He will present the Village’s stance on the changes, as presented in this letter the Village sent to the State in on the issue. (Click here to read the letter).
County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass will represent the County’s position on the changes to the comprehensive plan.
In addition, Florida Representative Ray Rodrigues will present a legislative update.
We urge everyone to attend this open forum so our local legislators understand how we feel about threats to our water quality, flooding controls, and traffic safety and flow.
Please Note: This meeting is not sponsored by the ECCL. We are sharing this important information to our readers as a service. The event is being held by the Estero Republican Club. All questions regarding the meeting would need to be directed to them.
