Troubled Waters: A Public Health Hazard
During the height of the 2018 Blue-Green Algae and Red Tide HAB (harmful algal bloom) crises in Southwest Florida, Calusa Waterkeeper met and interviewed many of the nation’s leading research scientists studying HABs, but also doctors and nurses on the front lines and patients who had suffered harm.
The result was a compelling, current, informative, and entertaining 40-minute documentary conveying much-needed information on potential risk – particularly on the aerosolized transmission of particles from HABs and the increased danger posed to public health.
This video was produced by CalusaWaterkeeper.com, a local water quality non-profit that tracks water quality in Southwest Florida and alerts residents of opportunities to advocate with decision-makers. Knowledge is power but acting on knowledge is more powerful.
