Council Meeting
The Village of Estero Council will discuss several important matters at its next meeting on Wednesday, February 18.
These meetings are an opportunity for residents to learn more about growth, development, and zoning changes within Estero and to voice questions, concerns, and comments on these topics.
Among the items on the agenda:
- An amendment to a contract with Kisinger Campo & Associates to allow the company to provide additional work on the Williams Road and Atlantic Gulf Drive improvement project. This project, which includes roadway and drainage improvements, requires the Village to obtain property easements. After one negotiation fell through, this amendment will allow for further project redesign.
- A “piggyback agreement” with Nabors, Giblin, & Nickerson for bond counsel. The Village will piggyback onto a contract held by the City of Port St. Lucie for the same services, which will support the Village as it works on “various capital and land acquisition projects that may be financed through the issuance of municipal bonds,” according to the agenda.
Councilors will also hold a workshop to receive updates on the Bonita-Estero Rail Trail (BERT) project, including corridor acquisitions.
Residents who wish to comment during the meeting should complete a Public Comment Card. E-comment forms are also available before meetings and must be returned by noon the day before the meeting.
