Howdyshell

The Lee County School District announces David Howdyshell of Estero High School has been named Assistant Principal of the Year.

The assistant principal at Estero High since 2017, Mr. Howdyshell previously taught math at Estero and Oak Hammock Middle School. This year he’s been teaching three math classes on top of his administrative duties. He has created a weekly mentoring period for students to check their grades with teachers, get help as needed and participate in team building activities. He has also increased student progress monitoring and implemented extra small group instruction to keep students on track to graduate.

This honor qualifies Mr. Howdyshell for the State of Florida pool of candidates for a Florida’s Assistant Principal of the Year, which is chosen in February or March.
