A Great Veteran’s Day Celebration at Estero’s Community Park
By Allan Bowditch, Engage Estero Communications Chair
On Saturday, November 11, The Village of Estero held a successful Veterans Day celebration at the Estero Community Park.
The event commenced with a patriotic concert performed by Estero’s own vocal artist, Lindsey Graham, honoring all veterans, active military personnel, and Goldstar Parents.
The Estero High School performed a presentation of the military branch of colors. JROTC, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Estero Fire Rescue were all represented at the event, including a Robot Bomb Detection Dog and a Virtual Reality Trailer.
There was an impressive display of almost 100 American Classic and Muscle Cars, together with a Kids’ Zone with a Bounce House, games, and face painting. The New Horizons choir also performed for the audience.
It didn’t take long for the free over 1,000 hotdogs prepared by the Tidewater Veterans Group and Community to be given out!
It was a memorable day with many of the not-for-profit organizations who erected their stands, engaging with the hundreds of people who took the time to acknowledge the sacrifice and dedication of the many Veterans there.
