April Adopt-A-Highway Volunteers Bag 460 lbs of Litter!

A Fantastic Volunteer Achievement Benefiting Everyone in the Greater Estero Area

A total of 460 pounds of bagged litter was collected by the volunteers this month along US41 between The Vines and Coconut Road. That’s a total of 4,040 pounds (just over 2 tons), since the end of last season (April 2024) and over 12 tons since October 2020, as a result of the Engage Estero’s Adopt a Highway program.

Volunteers in the April collection represented Rapallo, Pelican Sound, RiverCreek, Bella Terra, Copperleaf, Belle Lago, The Vines, Estero Pointe, Riverwoods, Shadow Wood, and Grandezza.

Marathon/Dos Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill has been our water and ice provider since the program began 5 seasons ago. Engage Estero’s Board of Directors and the Executive Management Team extend their sincere thanks to the managers and staff at  Marathon/Dos Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill for their kindness.

In addition, we would also like to thank all of the Estero neighbors who participate in Adopt a Road programs or simply pick up litter on their regular walks. You are all an important part of our vision for a beautiful and environmentally healthy Estero.
