The Village of Estero Council will discuss several important matters at its next meeting on Wednesday, June 4.
These meetings are an opportunity for residents to learn more about growth, development, and zoning changes within Estero and to voice questions, concerns, and comments on these topics.
Among the items on the agenda:
- A first reading of the fiscal year 2025-2026 capital improvement plan. The plan includes $57.5 million allocated for parks and recreation ($27.3 million), utilities (13.4 million), roadway improvements ($11.9 million), intersections ($2.5 million), bicycle and pedestrian improvements ($1.5 million), and other allocations.
- Amendments to the land development code’s Flood Hazard Reduction Standards.
- Rezoning of a 7.5 acre lot at Sandy Lane and Broadway Ave. East that is proposed for a 17-lot single-family residential project.
- A second reading of a zoning ordinance regarding a proposed Home2 Suites hotel on the
Coconut Point mall property.
- A workshop to review the comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2024.
Residents who wish to comment during the meeting should complete a Public Comment Card. E-
comment forms are also available before meetings and must be returned by noon the day before the meeting.
