Congratulations To Our Adopt A Highway Team And All Volunteers Keeping Estero’s Roads Clean!

The Engage Estero’s team of volunteers collected 780 pounds of bagged litter and debris during the weekend of March 11th. Since early November, this season has amounted to 4,940 pounds (2.5 tons) of trash collected from Hwy 41 in Estero.

This month’s participants represented Copperleaf, Riverwoods Plantation, Grandezza, Belle Lago, Lighthouse Bay, Bella Terra, Meadows of Estero, Rapallo, Breckinridge, Copper Oaks, Rookery Pointe, and Pelican Sound. Our appreciation goes to our volunteers and residents of other programs and those who pick up litter wherever they are taking their walks.

The collective teamwork to clear litter and debris and improve Estero’s environmental health and beauty was recognized at the Keep Lee County Beautiful (KLCB) Environmental Stewardship Awards Ceremony on March 2nd. KLCB awarded the “Outstanding Adoption Group” to Engage Estero’s Adopt a Highway and the Village’s Adopt a Road Programs and the work of Julie Yellig, who coordinates the programs.

The Engage Estero team also thanks Marathon/Dos Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill’s for their continued support for providing ice and water for our volunteers. Finally, we thank all our Estero neighbors who are good stewards of our community.

Engage Estero is an all-volunteer, nonpolitical, nonprofit Community Engagement Association. We exist to inform citizens of significant community issues and encourage citizen engagement to favorably impact the quality of life in greater Estero.
