SUMMARY:Village of Estero Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Village of Estero Council will discuss several important matters at its next meeting on Wednesday\, July 2. \nThese meetings are an opportunity for residents to learn more about growth\, development\, and zoning changes within Estero and to voice questions\, concerns\, and comments on these topics. \nThis Village Council meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday\, July 2\, in the Council Chambers at Village Hall\, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle. \nAmong the items on the agenda: \n\nMotions to approve two construction manager at-risk contracts with Wright Construction Group to oversee conversion of the Cypress Bend RV resort ($2.1 million) and Sunny Grove Park ($2.5 million) wastewater treatment plants to Lee County Utilities management. To potentially offset a portion of the estimated costs for the Cypress Bend project\, the Village plans to apply for an $850\,000 grant with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. For the Sunny Grove Park project\, the Village has proposed sharing costs with Cypress Bend at a rate of 25% of the project cost\, which\, after grant funding\, could reduce costs for this second project.\nA motion to approve a $2.23 million contract amendment to allow for the demolition of the Chris-Tel Construction building\, which is necessary for the Village to move forward with Estero Sports Park development.\nA motion to approve a contract with Synovus Bank for the Village’s banking services\n\nResidents who wish to comment during the meeting should complete a Public Comment Card.
