SUMMARY:Traffic Congestion in Estero: Public Forum

Population growth is putting pressure on our roads and current residents. Everywhere we look\, we see the symptoms of congestion. \nEffective traffic congestion solutions require a collaborative approach involving experts\, community members\, and policymakers. The Forum featured expert panelists on traffic congestion. \nThe Meeting Examined: \n\nThe key issues that have led to the current congestion in Greater Estero\nWhy it can take many years to make changes to the road structure even after the problem is identified\nWhy road widening along East Cokscrew is slow to catch up with the developments taking place\nWhat can be done to create a positive impact by helping to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow? What are the solutions?\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Summary of the Forum\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 1 Key Questions Addressed\n \n The Engage Estero Public Forum Traffic Congestion in Greater Estero (Written by Allan Bowditch\, Engage estero’s Chief Communications Officer) Introduction The building boom in the Estero area started in 1998 when the airport\, Florida Gulf Coast University\, Miromar... \n Read More \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 2 Public Concerns & Future Actions \n \n The Engage Estero Public Forum Traffic Congestion in Greater Estero (Written by Allan Bowditch\, Engage estero’s Chief Communications Officer) Go to Part 1 Questions and Comments from the Public The Engage Estero team would like to thank all those who attended the... \n Read More \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Experts\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Wayne Gaither\n Florida Department of Transportation\, District 1 \nWayne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning and has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry in Southwest Florida.
