Economic Outreach Council
February 22 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
To achieve exceptionalism in education, the Economic Outreach Council (EOC) (formerly the Estero Economic Excellence Outreach Council) is on a mission to engage as many talented and experienced business persons who will join EOC as volunteers to pro-actively support efforts of the Village of Estero, area civic groups, and southwest Florida institutions to further grow and diversify the economy and improve quality of life for all residents in Estero; and beyond.
Our targeted Program is to help transform Estero into a destination to become known as Centers of Excellence for aspiring entrepreneurs, active-and-engaged retired business people, and acclaimed healthcare professionals.
EOC three primary initiatives and principle partner relationships:
- Entrepreneurship Support – FGCU & Village of Estero
- K – 12 Education – Lee County Schools, Village of Estero, & Junior Achievement
- Village Center Development & Implementation – Village of Estero, Lee Health, FGCU, and the development community.
MENTORS: FGCU Institute for Entrepreneurship (IFE) needs volunteer mentors to coach aspiring entrepreneurial students in IFE’s exponentially growing entrepreneurial Programs.
CAREER DAY SPEAKERS: Lee County School System needs you to share your “story” to students about your career in a way to open their eyes to the challenges and opportunities they might aspire to pursue.
JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT has been presenting its traditional in-class and after-class programs for more than two decades in both Lee and Collier County. An Estero-area pilot program led by Village of Estero is a plan to significantly increase JA Programs in Estero-area schools. All JA Lesson Plans are focused on teaching the basics in three core-competencies: work-readiness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship.
